Hypercat Racing was founded in May 2001 in the San Francisco Bay Area as a bike fitting and endurance sports coaching company. For nine years we worked with hundreds of athletes through our bike fitting and running, cycling and triathlon coaching programs and services.  We relocated to Ventura, Calif. in the fall of 2010 and opened a formal brick and mortar retail location at our current location, 4160 Market Street, #13 in Ventura. For the past 9 years we have continued to serve athletes and cycling enthusiasts and competitors as "Hypercat Racing."

In time it has become clear that we needed a new name to better reflect the evolution of the Hypercat brand including our "bike fit first," concierge style, full service bike shop. We decided in January of 2019 that the name change was going to happen. After talking with customers, clients, friends and industry peers, we  created a list of potential names. Our graphics designer, Christopher Didario (check him out!) did many mock-ups of different
names and logo configurations. We surveyed athletes at races and cycling events including the Solvang Century. In the end, the choice was clear and Hypercat Cycleworks was born! We then moved forward to new signage and formally unveiled our name evolution with a video of the new signage being installed.

Today Hypercat Racing remains the name of the premium, professional training and coaching company you've come to know!  There is now more Hypercat to love to the naming of Hypercat Cycleworks as our bike fitting operation and full service bike shop.  Folks call us "Hypercat" but now you know why we have two brand names. It is easier to find us and easier to share knowledge, news and information through our dedicated channels for each.
