7/8/07 - Congratulations on our new Ironman athletes -

7/8/07 - Barclays Lake Stevens Ironman 70.3
Coach Rachel placed 12th pro and earned a slot to the Ironman 70.3 World Championships.

7/4/07 - Elma (WA) Firecracker Triathlon & Duathlon
Coach Rachel finished 1st overall in the sprint triathlon (out racing the guys, too!!)
Coach Phil took his division with a 1st M35-39 and 4th overall in the duathlon.

7/4/07 - Road Runner Sports Firecracker 5000 - Seattle, WA
Coach Rachel finished 9th overall female and 1st F30-34 in this midnight 5k race.

6/23/07 - Pacific Crest Half Ironman
Huge congratulations to Grant Curry who improved over a hour, setting a new half ironman 
personal best. Grant finished in 5:11:30 placing 6th in the Male 20-24 age group.
Way to go Grant! Next up for Grant, the Vineman 70.3

Coach Rachel sets a new career best bike split and finished 3rd overall female in 4:46:51.

6/23/07 - San Jose International Results
Congratulations to Mary Beth Kohne - 3rd place Female 40-44
Awesome work to Julie Pfeifle - 6th place Female 45-49

6/23/07 - Alcatri Triathlon - San Francisco, CA
Congratulations to Jason LaBarbera as he successfully escaped from Alcatraz
and conquered this grueling event!

June 3rd, 2007
Congratulations to Karen Bletzer who set two course PRs in the past two weeks.
First Karen ran over a minute per mile faster than her previous 10k PR at the
Mardi Gras 10k and on Sat, June 2 she finished 7th in her age group at the
Spirit of Nisene Forest Trail Half Marathon, shaving over 13 minutes off
her course time from 2006. Way to go Karen!

May 20th, 2007
Mary Beth takes 1st place! Congratulations to Mary Beth Kohne who scored
a podium finish in the F40-45 age group at the Auburn International Triathlon.
With a terrific effort in the swim, a wicked fast bike and a steady run, Mary Beth
held off the competition to take home first!

Congratulations to Mary Beth Kohne. Super hard working mom of twin boys,
Mary Beth, mixed it up last weekend at the Sacramento International Triathlon.
She covered the 1.5k/40k/10k Olympic distance triathlon is 2:32:56 and placed
2nd place in the F40-49 age group. Next up for MBK - the Auburn International Triathlon!


Mixing it up with an international field, Rachel Sears overcame adverse weather conditions
to finish the 8k / 53k / 8k Powerman Alabama duathlon in 3rd place amongst the professional women's field.
Heading back to her running roots & drawing on her cycling prowess Rachel completed the
first run in 10th place and rode through the field into 2nd place by T2. 
She was passed by Czech Gabriela Loskotova in the final 8k run, but held onto 3rd place.

As a result of her finish, Rachel qualified for the long course duathlon world championship
to be held in Richmond, Virginia on October 21, 2007. http://www.duathlonworlds.com

Julie Pfeifle scores a 2nd place finish at the Ice Breaker Sprint Triathlon.
Congratulations to Julie Pfeifle as she stood atop the podium in her season opener, 
the Ice Breaker Sprint Triathlon. The Ice Breaker tri, contested in Granite Bay,
is a 400 meter open water swim, 16 mile bike and 4 mile run. 

Coach Phil heads to Sea Otter with Polar & dusts off his racing wheels.
Though barely back on the bike, Coach Phil is going to race two Sea Otter events this coming
weekend in Monterey. Stop by the Polar booth to say hi and give a hoot & holler during the
Masters 1,2,3 circuit & Road Race.

Craig Martens shows he is right on track for Ironman CDA this June.
Todd Jordan will join Craig as he earned a slot to Ironman CDA.
Dynamic duo Christy & Patrick James continued their Ironman Austria
preparations with strong showings in Oceanside.
Coach Rachel finished in 4:57 and 22nd among the professional women.

Hypercat Racing welcomes two new athletes in their preparation for triathlon racing in 2007:
Firefighter Jason Matthews and Executive Head Hunter and Jason LaBarbera.
Both athletes are new to triathlon and each is ready to rise to the challenge.
Jason Matthews will tackle Vineman in July and Jason LaBarbera will be going long at the
Big Kahuna Half Ironman. Jason M saves lives everyday as a medic/firefighter with the
County of Alameda. Jason L. is daddy to three little girls and will be looking for them and his wife 
at the finish line this season. Welcome Aboard!

Mary Beth is BACK!
Watch out, women in the 40-44 age group, Mary Beth Kohne has aged up (you go Mary Beth!) in 2007 and is ready
to take on the competition. Mary Beth is back again with Hypercat after a short hiatus and looks
forward to seeing how fast she can go. Last year Mary Beth took high coveted podium spots
at several of her triathlons...this year she is gunning for more. How does she do it?
In addition to a full time job, Mary Beth is mom to two energetic twin boys, aged 8.

Welcome to our latest additions to Hypercat Racing!
Hypercat Racing welcomes Karen Bletzer and Craig Martens.  
Karen is gunning for a trail half marathon in June.
Craig is training smart for Ironman CDA in late June.
Both athletes are being coached by Rachel Sears.

Big PRS at the San Francisco Half Marathon!
Congratulations to Sarah Sperry on bettering her half marathon time
yet again. Sarah ran 1:43 at the Kaiser Permanente San Francisco Half
on Superbowl Sunday. Improving another 5 minutes over her
PR half in December, 
Coach Phil says, "Sarah has shown time and time again that consistent, intelligent training pays off."
Go Sarah!

Also, congratulations to Craig Martens who cruised to a 1:48 at the SF Half, also a personal best!

13th Professional Woman in 10:43 at Ironman Western Australia in Busselton, Western Australia.

Congratulations to Boston Marathon Qualifier, Julie Pfeifle. Julie set a new personal best
at the California International Marathon with a 3:48

Congratulations to Sarah Sperry on her HUGE PR at the California International Marathon.
Sarah ran on a relay team, covering 13.1 miles in her best time yet 1:48. Way to go, Sarah!
